Dedicated Leader and Public Servant

Our dad, Stephen Brand, would make an exceptional county commissioner for Delaware County.  His unwavering commitment to service and leadership, along with a forward-thinking mindset, make him the perfect candidate to fill the District 1 seat.

We have grown up witnessing our father make positive changes in Delaware County. As long as we can remember, he has served on numerous boards.  Weather it was variousc ommittees at church, the Muncie Area Career Center Technical Advisory Board or the co-chairing of the Muncie Manufacturing Alliance (just to name a few) he was always involved in the community.

Both of us have chosen to pursue careers in the manufacturing industry, in large part due to our dad.  He has worked in manufacturing his entire career.  We have both seen first-hand the change and the improvement he can do for a company. Collectively, we have worked almost nine years at Magna.  Our childhood was influenced by his rock-sold work ethic, perseverance, integrity and empathy.  He has taught us the value and importance of a firm handshake and keeping your word.  He has modeled superlative communication skills and stressed the importance of using them.

At every company Christmas party we attended with him, he could greet every employee by name and ask something about their family. He truly cared enough about his employees to take the time to listen and learn about them. Growing up, our dad never missed our baseball games unless he was out of the country.  If he wasn’t helping coach our teams, he was keeping the book or running stats.  We were introduced to outdoor fun via 4-wheels as soon as we could safely ride. Our off-roading trips are something he started with us more than 15 years  ago and we continue them to this day.

We were raised in the church and remember our parents volunteering at family night and bible school – it was a family event.   The church helped form bonds that have lasted more than two decades with families we still enjoy and spending time with today.  Growing up, Dad worked a lot but always managed to be there for his four kids.  He has instilled into all of us a solid moral compass, how to be successful and have integrity. One thing we absolutely love about our father is how dedicated he can get to anything he is passionate about.  And he is dedicated to becoming the best commissioner in Delaware County.
